The 97th Ohio State FFA Convention was held on Thursday, May 1st and Friday, May 2nd in Columbus, Ohio. Thirty-two Mississinawa Valley-MVCTC FFA members attended along with their advisors Carmen Hartzell, Gwen Bergman and chaperone Drew Walker.
On Thursday the students left the school around 7am and headed to Anthony Thomas Chocolate factory and toured the establishment. While there, the students walked around the facility and bought candy from the gift shop. Next, the chapter members present headed to the Spaghetti Warehouse. After leaving we attended the second session, then ate dinner at Quaker Steak and Lube. Next, we went to Activate where members played various mental and physical games.
On Friday members attended the fourth and fifth session of convention and had some more time to walk around the convention center. Throughout the fourth session two members walked across stage to accept an award. McKinley Stachler for Gold Rated Secretary, and Philip Geesaman for Gold Rated Treasurer. After walking around the expo a little more students headed to the fifth and final session of convention. In this session Ava Hummel and Conner Hardy earned their State FFA Degree. After witnessing this the students headed to Raising Canes to finish off the convention experience!
The members made many memories at this year’s State FFA Convention. Congratulations to all those who won an award and thank you for your hard work!
