BREAKING & ENTERING
October 19, 2026 – At approximately 0532 hours I was dispatched to 1219 Highland Dr in the City of Greenville in reference to someone attempting to break into a vehicle.
At the time this call was reported I was on a separate call, so P. O. N. Colby was the first officer to respond. Please see his supplement for further information.
Upon my arrival, the offender, Riley Steele, had already been detained and placed in the back of P. O. N. Colby’s cruiser. Greenville Township Rescue had arrived on scene and determined that Steele needed to be transported to Wayne HealthCare to be evaluated due to her being incoherent. I followed Rescue to Wayne where Steele received treatment from the staff at Wayne. Through P. O. N. Colby’ s investigation, it was determined that Steele had not committed vehicle trespass and would be cited for disorderly conduct. Steele was given her copy of the citation and advised of her mandatory court date and time. Steele was released to hospital staff for further evaluation.
Janice Napier filled out a statement and victim’s rights forms and Dakota Price also filled out a statement form.
LOST PROPERTY
October 21, 2026 – At approximately 1406 hours, I was dispatched to 122 West Main Street; Greenville Police Department, in reference to a miscellaneous complaint.
Upon my arrival, I made contact with the complainant, Charles Wagner. Charles advised he received a notification at 0929 hours from Google stating his email password and phone number were changed. Charles stated he had given his old cell phone, a Galaxy A53, to his 11-year-old daughter who took it with her to her mother’s house, Ashlynn Ferrand at 534 Washington Avenue. Charles advised when he gave this phone to his daughter, he had forgot to sign out of his email, leaving the email logged in and readily accessible. Charles stated this phone has been at Ashlynn’s residence for approximately 8 months with no prior issues being reported.
Charles stated he and Ashlynn had court earlier in the day where Ashlynn had brought the cell phone in as evidence during the court hearing. Charles advised he recognized the phone as the one he gave his daughter. Charles advised with the email logged into the phone, Ashlynn had access to his Google wallet, his car insurance, his lawyer emails, and his Ring camera system. Charles was given a statement and a victim rights form which were completed and returned back to
me.
I made contact with Ashlynn at her residence. Ashlynn stated while she and her boyfriend were cleaning her house, she was made aware of a black cell phone being found behind a speaker in the living room under the television. Ashlynn advised she did not recognize the phone so when she attempted to find the owner of the phone, she found the phone to be logged into Charles’ email. I asked Ashlynn if at any point she or anyone in the house had changed the password to Charles’ email, to which she stated she did not and was not aware of anyone else tampering with the phone. Ashlynn became worried Charles was attempting to spy on her and listen into her personal conversations. Ashlynn advised Charles had been in her residence one time to talk to their son, and during that time Ashlynn stated she does not believe he was out of her line of sight. Ashlynn stated he has not been in her house any other time.
I advised Ashlynn to take the phone with her to Piqua to do their custody exchange, to which she stated she did not know if she was going to make it. Due to the circumstances, I took the phone to the Greenville Police Department to be placed in property for safekeeping. I called Charles and advised him of his phone being placed in property.
At this time there are no leads or suspects in this case and it can be closed.
THEFT
October 15, 2026 – At approximately 1421 hours, I was dispatched to Eppco Feed and Supply; 645 Wagner Avenue, in reference to a theft not in progress.
Upon my arrival, I made contact with the manager, Jalynn Tollefson. Jalyn advised when she arrived at work this morning, she noticed several empty wood pallets missing from the front of the store. Jalynn advised the pallets are reused and sent back to their mill by one of the Eppco trucks and cost $9.00 to replace. Jalynn stated there are 50-60 pallets missing at this time. Jalynn advised she spoke with Shane Cheadle, a manager at Dunkin Donuts, who advised they have video footage of the suspect vehicle. Jalynn also stated she had spoke with the BMV to check their cameras in the area as well. Jalynn described the suspect vehicle as a black Chevy or GMC truck with a trailer attached. Jalynn advised she had also spoke with Doug Cunningham, manager at Rural King, who advised he observed a truck matching that description near Rural King sometime before sunrise. Jalynn was given a statement and a victim rights form which were completed and returned back to me. The total cost of these missing pallets is $540.00. I checked with both Dunkin Donuts and the BMV; neither had video ready for me to review at this time.
I viewed video from Dunkin Donuts on October 16, 2026. The video showed at approximately 0512 hours on 10/15/26, a dark colored truck pulling a trailer drive from the back of Eppco, and park near the front door. Once parked 2 subjects, described as one male and one female, exited the truck and began loading pallets into the trailer. Based on the video provided to me, I was unable to identify the subjects loading the pallets, but could match the vehicle description to a vehicle owned by Randy Hofacker. The video from Dunkin Donuts will be attached to this report.
On October 19, 2026, I spoke with Randy Hofacker. Randy advised he did not take any pallets from Eppco Feed and Supply on October 15th. Randy stated he had previously asked about taking pallets from the back of the business approximately 3 weeks ago. Randy advised he is on GPS monitoring through Preble County Probation. I attempted to make contact with his Probation Officer, Jamie Garrett. I was unable to speak to Jamie at this time and left a voicemail for him to return my phone call.
Jamie Garrett returned my phone call later in the day on October 19th. Jamie confirmed Randy is currently on probation with him and is able to see his location through a GPS Monitoring device. Jamie advised on the morning of October 15, Randy’s location showed him to be in the area of the Stardust Motel; 5436 St Rt 49, until approximately 0700 hours.
Due to the quality of the video, no identification can be made of the suspects or vehicle involved. There are no current leads or suspects at this time
TRAFFIC PURSUIT
October 24, 2026 – At approximately 2211 PM hours I was parked at Paws Bingo 848 Martin St Greenville, OH on routine patrol.
While watching traffic, I observed a maroon Chevy SUV traveling East on Martin St and pulling into Marathon Gas Station on 841 Martin St Greenville, OH. While the vehicle was traveling on Martin St, I observed it to have a headlight out.
I was able to visually observe Carrie Enochs walking around the vehicle and pumping gas, a few minutes later I observed her walking into the gas station. While Carrie was inside, I pulled through the parking lot and ran the Ohio plate that was on the vehicle. The vehicle was bearing Ohio registration LBB7988, I ran the plate through LEADS/NCIC and discovered that the registered owner is Carrie Enoch, I also discovered that her driver’s license is currently expired. After running the plate, I pulled out of the parking lot and traveled East on Martin St. I observed the vehicle leave the parking lot and travel West on Martin St. I was able to get behind the vehicle and confirm it was the same vehicle I observed at Marathon. I attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle on 11th St at Hart Ave. I activated my overhead lights and sirens; once both were activated, the vehicle still failed to stop. I called out a pursuit with the vehicle.
During this time, I observed the vehicle driving recklessly and driving faster than the posted speed limit and not stopping.
The pursuit traveled South onto Anderson Ave with speeds reaching 60+ through town; the vehicle also failed to stop at all stop signs.
The pursuit continued westbound on Front Street at high speeds until reaching Central Ave, where the vehicle turned and traveled southbound. The vehicle reached Pine St, where it again failed to stop at stop signs before reaching Ft. Jefferson Ave. The vehicle then traveled southbound on Ft. Jefferson Ave with speeds reaching 80+. Once the vehicle reached the roundabout at 36W and US 121S I terminated the pursuit.
All information was transferred to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office; the approximate distance of the pursuit was 4.3 Miles, lasting approximately 4 minutes and 37 seconds. No injuries or any property damage was obtained during the pursuit.
