Steve Jutte of Versailles (68)

1832

Steve Jutte, 68, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on March 13, 2024. Steve was born on December 23, 1955, in Greenville, Ohio, the beloved son of Betty and the late Luke Jutte, brother of eight siblings and uncle to twenty-one nieces and nephews. Steve was a passionate Versailles Tigers sports follower and a loyal Cincinnati Reds fan. He never missed a chance to update you on the score of a big game.

Steve worked at Wayne Industries for part of his life and in the kitchen of the Versailles Inn. He loved spending his earnings on pizza for the family on Saturday nights after mass–with his mom’s chocolate chip cookies for dessert, of course. During the last years of his life, Steve became a member of the Foundation’s community and built special connections with the staff and fellow residents there. We’ll miss Steve’s contagious laugh and his infinite high-fives.

Steve is preceded in death by his father, Luke Jutte, and survived by his mother, Betty Jutte; his siblings Deb (John) Blakeslee, Cindy (Tom) Schulze, Diane (Jeff) Staley, Randy (Lori Jo) Jutte, Pam (Chris) Raffel, Lori (Doug) Skinner, Doug (Denise) Jutte and Lynn (Jim) Brant and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Monday, March 18, 2024, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. Ned Brown, celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery, Versailles. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm and Monday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 am at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name by check to Foundations, 7739 US 40, New Paris, OH 45347.
