GREENVILLE – On Friday, at approximately 5:42 p.m., officers from the Greenville Police Department, along with multiple first responder agencies, were dispatched to the intersection of Ohio Street and East Main Street in response to a reported three-vehicle crash with injuries.
A white GMC truck driven by Robert Apple (52) of Dayton was traveling eastbound on East Main Street and the investigation shows that the white truck did not stop at a red light and proceeded through the intersection of Ohio and E Main. Corey Kauffman (41) of Arcanum was the front-seat passenger with Apple. A white Chevrolet Trax driven by Lauren Fullenkamp (24) of Fort Recovery was traveling southbound on Ohio Street and attempting to turn eastbound on East Main Street. Tyler Gower (24) of Rossburg was the front-seat passenger with Fullenkamp. Apple struck Fullenkamp as he was going through the intersection. A black Nissan Altima driven by Tealu Boyce (36) of Trotwood was traveling northbound on Ohio Street through the intersection of East Main Street and was also struck by the white GMC driven by Apple.
Kauffman and Gower were both airlifted to area hospitals with serious injuries. Apple, Boyce and Fullenkamp were transported by ambulance to Wayne ER.
Initial findings suggest that speed, alcohol and/or drugs may have been contributing factors in the collision. The incident remains under active investigation by the Greenville Police Department… charges are pending.
