Senate Passes TikTok Ban Bill, President Signs Into Legislation

After the United States voted to pass the controversial TikTok ban bill late Tuesday night, President Joe Biden signed the bill into legislation Wednesday morning.

The new legislation provides nine months for TikTok’s Beijing-based parent company, ByteDance, to sell it or face a nationwide prohibition in the United States.

This legislation will more than likely become a legal battle, which the Chinese have already threatened if the bill was passed.

TikTok could be banned in the United States as early as January 2025, according to reports, but would likely be extended to at least April 2025.
