GREENVILLE – Members of the community gathered to celebrate Rumpke – Greenville District Office & Transfer Station’s new building located at 5474 Jaysville St Johns Rd Greenville.

The 19,275 square foot building was a 7 million dollar project. Many are responsible for the success of the project as many hands make light work. Today was the official first day of the opening of the Greenville Hauling and Maintenance Facility.

Rumpke project partners responsible for the project include Emboss Designs, Abercrombie, and Arcon Builders.

Noel Moomey, Region Vice President Rumpke of Greenville thanked the Darke County Chamber, Darke County Commissioners, City of Greenville Mayor, Jeff Whitaker, and the Greenville Township Trustees for celebrating the monumental occasion.

“I’d also like to recognize the Rumpke team that’s involved with our business,” said Moomey. “We couldn’t move forward without those people.”

Rumpkes’s mission is to deliver exceptional waste and recycling solutions to its customers and communities with a commitment to safety, service, the environment, and the growth of its people.

Rumpkes mission began in 1932 when William F. Rumpke founded the now family owned and operated business.

“Today our family owns and operates 16 landfills, 14 recycling centers, and 26 transfer stations, all across five different states,” shared Moomey.

The hope for this new facility is to help assist Rumpke with continuing to accomplish its mission and to help better serve its community. It’s also designed to help strengthen the collaboration amongst the Rumpke team, the increasing organization, and a space for growth.

“So much work goes into recycling and the Rumpke team and family put so much engineering and thought behind this. We really appreciate it, it really is important to the environment,” said Commissioner Marshall Combs.
