GREENVILLE – The 42nd Annual Downtown Greenville Rolling 50’s Classics Fall Cruise-In, one of Ohio’s largest cruise-ins, hosted over 500 classic cars to Broadway and adjoining side streets.

“We have a lot of people downtown,” said Rolling 50’s club secretary Amanda Fischer. “We have a lot of great sponsors for trophies and water donated. We have donated goodie bags, so we had a great day.”

“We had over 500 cars, and what it does for Downtown Greenville is incredible,” said Greenville Mayor Whitaker. “It brings people from all over the area, west-central Ohio, and Indiana. It’s a great annual event, and we’re happy to continue hosting the car show. The number of people that bring their cars is incredible. The restaurants and businesses have to love it each year.”

The Cruise-In included a live DJ playing 50s and 60s music, food trucks, a 50/50 drawing, and lots of family fun.

“I’ve been bringing cars here for 40 years,” said 15-year club member Dale Hartman, who sold car raffle tickets for 11 years for the Greenville High School Marching Band of Pride.

Dash plaques were presented to the first 450 cars registered, and trophies were awarded to the winners at the end of the event.

“I want to thank the city of Greenville for allowing us to do this,” said Fischer. “The Greenville Police, the Greenville Fire Department, the Mayor, the street department are great. They put extra trash cans out for us, the barriers for the streets. I thank everyone for letting us do this. It’s been a great day.”

The 2024 Cruise-In was dedicated to the memory of longtime member Kenny Erwin, a 41-year club member.

“We lost Dave Niley (former club president and lifetime member) two years ago,” Fischer noted. “Two weeks ago, we lost Kenny Erwin. He was a member for 41 years. We are remembering him today.”
