GREENVILLE – On Tuesday, the Greenville Police Department initiated an investigation into Bryan C. Gilbert (62) of Greenville, possibly being in possession of a firearm.
Gilbert is a registered sex offender following a conviction of Gross Sexual Imposition in 2019. He was also convicted of possession of cocaine in 2006.
The Ohio Revised Code prohibits those who have been convicted of or under indictment for crimes of violence or various drug offenses from acquiring, having, carrying, or using a firearm or dangerous ordinance (Weapons Under Disability ORC 2923.13). Gilbert also has a prior conviction of having weapons under disability in 2019.
On Wednesday, the Greenville Police Department executed a search warrant at Mr. Gilbert’s residence in the 300 block of South Ohio Street. A firearm was recovered as a result of the search warrant, and Gilbert was arrested for Weapons Under Disability, a felony of the
third degree.
This case remains under investigation.
