GREENVILLE – The Darke County Tractor Pullers Association (DCTPA) had a successful Friday night of Fast Classes pulling before a large crowd at the Greenville Power of the Past show held in front of the Darke County Fair Grandstand.
“It was a great crowd tonight,” said Kyle Schlechty, DCTPA Vice President. “ A lot of people came in for the pull; it was a lot of fun.”

“We had really good numbers pulling,” Schlechty added. “Many pullers traveled more than four hours to get here to hook with us.”
The Darke County Tractor Pullers Association has a circuit of 12 pulls a year throughout Darke and surrounding counties, including The Montgomery County Fair, Greenville Power of the Past, Power of the Past Antiques, Butler County Fair, Clark County Fair, Preble County Fair, Greene County Fair, Miami County Fair, Mercer County Fair, Darke County Fair, Labor Day Classic (Palestine), Lynn Antiques, Lynn DCTPA, Lynn NTPA, Red Key Fire Benefit Pull, Maria Stein Countryfest, and the Wayne County Fair.

“Almost all the counties that touch Darke County and some in the county we cover,” said Schlechty. “We have a small circuit with a point system. We run classes that fit locally and are popular in our area. We have to have a variety of things to put a show on that people like.”
The DCTPA will bring the National Tractor Pullers Association (NTPA) to the Great Darke County Fair on Tuesday, August 20, in front of the Grandstand. The event will start at 7 p.m. and be preceded by a 10 a.m. Antique Tractor Pull.

“Tuesday night of the fair, we will have a Nation NTPA hook,” Schlechty stated. “These are people from all over the state and all over the country coming to pull with us. It’s a really good show.”
An event like this would not have happened without the support and help of many.
“I want to thank all the club members,” said Schlechty. “There is a whole crew of people working behind the scenes to do this. It takes a lot of club members and a lot of volunteers to do all this. We want to thank the Darke County Fair board and all our sponsors for allowing us the facility to do this. We couldn’t do it without the sponsorship.”
