GREENVILLE – Perfect skies welcomed DCCA BBQ & Blues to Greenville in a Friday night of live entertainment on the Greenville Public Library Lawn with more than 750 taking in the local event.
“Darke County Center for the Arts is amazing,” said David Warner, DCCA Artistic Director. “It’s going phenomenal, everything is off to a good start for the season. We have a lot of good things going on for us – more to come.”
Headliner guitarist/vocalist/showman Chris Shutters entertained to large crowd under clear skies while enjoying food trucks, local restaurant vendors, wine offerings and craft beers.
Versailles’ Dalton Hesson opened the night on stage followed by Blues artist Will Freed, a versatile and talented singer-songwriter with a soul deeply rooted in the traditions of Blues, Rock and Country music hailing form West Virginia and currently residing in Ohio.
Closing out the night was Toledo’s Chris Shutters, a gifted songwriter, guitarist and vocalist whose prodigal talent and relentless passion are immediately recognizable in every performance. His blues-laced rock and roll originals showcase his innate ability to combine unmistakable soul with unbelievable technical prowess.
“Chris has been a longtime in Fleetwood Gold one of the big tribute bands in the state,” said Warner. “He just announced that he is the new front man for Blood Sweat and Tears. Chris has a European tour he is going to be going on this fall, big things for him. He’s a great local artist from Toledo so a lot of good music in Ohio.”
Darke County Center for the Arts is a not-for-profit organization formed in 1978 by a group of five local citizens desiring to expand cultural enrichment in the community by supporting all of the arts.
