GREENVILLE—August was definitely the start of something great for the locally-based art collective No Varsity.

The overwhelming success of their first live show, No Varsity Live 1.0, allowed the group to go a bit bigger with their second show.

“The first show was very fun to put on for the artists and everyone to come see,” Noah Walker, co-owner Noah Walker said. “Organizationally, it went very well and we were glad that things went smoothly. We really felt like it was the start of something special for us and the artists involved.”

At Live 2.0, Walker said there will be double the amount of artists, as well as collaborations with local artists and food served by Double M Diner and Walker Construction.

“Along with all of that, there will be a holiday theme with the show, with a winter stage design and Christmas themed photo booth present,” Walker said. Shout out to Anthony Shoop & his brand BAMN Legacy for being key in the development of the photo booth and decorations.”

Local brands involved with the event include Sadie Grace & BHI, WKND Love Boutique, Proper Gnar, Hibbett Sports, No Varsity LLC, BAMN Legacy & PRFCT, Cloak Studio, One Love Skate Shop and Bezerk.

In February of this year, Walker along with Simeon King and Dez Thompson founded No Varsity LLC.

The art collective has made big moves within local art, sports, fashion and music since then. Some of those being podcasts, support for local artists, a charity 3×3 basketball tournament, local fundraisers and more.

At the heart of the brand is its large group of local artists and collaborators, to which there are nearly too many to name.

“It’s important to us to create an atmosphere where everyone can feel like they are involved,” King said. “We are extremely interested in giving a spotlight to local artists and creatives, so by coming to our shows and events you are supporting them directly.”

King added that people should come to No Varsity 2.0 so they can be a part of the group’s early stages.

“Having a building, and event full of creative people is something we are excited to do,” he said. “The collaboration part is rewarding, and working with local brands and artists in the area is a great way to bring each other up.”

Just like with everything No Varsity does, the main goal of the live shows is to bring the community together.

“Having something for Darke County, Miami County, Montgomery County and the surrounding areas to do in one place is fun for everyone,” Thompson said.
“Plus, we will have people from so many different backgrounds with the opportunity to all support local creators.”

The second show will be at Paws Bingo Hall, located at 848 Martin St, Greenville, on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m.
