The Newton basketball graduated four seniors from last year’s team taking a good portion of their rebounding and scoring … but also have a trio of experienced seniors returning to lead the team this year. Guard play will be strong for the Indians and a team capable of competing with anyone in the league.

Strengths/Keys To Success

Our identity is built on relentless defense and physicality. This team is locked in on one goal — doing whatever it takes to win. We’re at our best when we’re guarding at a high level, attacking the glass, eliminating second-chance opportunities, and taking smart, aggressive shots. We want to make teams uncomfortable for four quarters.

Everything we do is about building habits that show up in big moments. When the game is on the line, you don’t rise to the occasion — you fall back on your training. That’s been the standard this offseason and preseason. This group has embraced the grind — in the classroom, the gym, and the weight room. I love their toughness, their edge, and their fight, and I’m excited to see them bring it every night this winter.

Pre-Season Top Teams

Tri-Village will be a strong contender with the experience and talent they have returning to their program.
