DARKE COUNTY – Seniors have been gathering at the Birchwood Senior Center for engaging and popular activities, with craft day being a particular highlight. These events provide participants with an opportunity to explore their creativity while enjoying a sense of community.
Anyone interested in participating in craft events must RSVP by the specified deadline. Typically, there is a small fee for each class, which covers all necessary tools and materials required for the project.
Past craft activities at the center have included a variety of creative projects. Participants have crafted snowmen, created snow globes, and designed welcome signs. Other activities have involved constructing macrame hangers and painting on different surfaces such as terra cotta pots, rocks, and canvases. Additionally, seniors have made diamond dot coasters and used decoupage techniques to create fall-themed pumpkins.
The Center at 5844 Jaysville-St. Johns Road in Greenville is open to area residents who are fifty-five years of age and older.
