The 2025 season marks over a decade since long-time baseball Coach Montaous Walton entered the college game. The former Wright State University Lake Campus coach and recruiting coordinator has made progress in recent years.
Throughout his career, Walton has made five conference tournament appearances, one conference championship, and two college world series appearances. His stops include Cincinnati Christian University, Central Christian College in Kansas, Wright State Lake Campus, Rust College, Mississippi Valley State University, and recently Hamline University.
“Being in Minnesota and back home in the Midwest is a blessing,” said Walton. I have always been a student of the game and love the X’s and O’s, as well as recruiting, scouting, and analytics. I constantly watch and evaluate film, breaking down mechanics, etc.”
Walton is in Minnesota now, where there is a lot of baseball tradition. Former Major League Baseball players and Hall of Famers Jack Morris, Joe Mauer, Dave Winfield, and Paul Molitor are all from Minnesota. Coach Walton had the pleasure of meeting and speaking to Paul Molitor at a Minnesota coaching clinic. Molitor gave Walton some great advice about the game.
The future is bright for Coach Walton, who is getting settled in Minnesota and preparing to win this season and have future success here in the Midwest like he did in Mississippi and Ohio.
