National Trail resource officer charged with sexual battery of student

PREBLE COUNTY – Deputy Mason Williams (26) has been formally charged in Eaton Municipal Court with sexual battery and tampering with evidence, both third-degree felonies, as well as dereliction of duty, a second-degree misdemeanor.

Williams joined the Preble County Sheriff’s Office in 2019 and became the National Trail School District’s resource officer two years ago, according to Sheriff Michael Simpson.

He is accused of having inappropriate relations with an 18-year-old student. He was taken into custody on Friday and is currently being held in the Butler County Jail without bond. He has been placed on administrative leave at this time.
