GREENVILLE – The Mississinawa Valley Lady Blackhawks traveled to Greenville for a five-team volleyball scrimmage.

“I was really happy with our play,” said Lady Hawks coach Nancy Whitted. “Definitely some things to work on, but overall, I was pretty happy with our small little team.”

The MV Lady Hawks roster lists eight players going into the 2024 OHSAA season playing in the Western Ohio Athletic Conference (WOAC).

“We’re small but mighty this year,” Whitted noted. “I was pretty impressed today.”

Mississinawa Valley is coming off a successful 15-7 season good for a 9-3 fourth-place 2023 WOAC finish.

“Lot of hustle, lot of good offense,” Whitted said of the night’s scrimmage. “We worked on that in practice. Our defense needs some work but that’s something we can work on in practice. That is what I like about these scrimmages, we see what we need to fix and what we’re good at.”

The Lady Hawks return two seniors, Aubrie Cooley and Caeden Fritz for the upcoming volleyball season.

“I am really looking forward to seeing what they can do this year,” Coach Whitted concluded.
