ANSONIA – The Ansonia Lady Tigers cheerleading program hosted the 2023 Ansonia Spirit Explosion Cheer and Dance Competition with Mississinawa Valley taking home the Grand Championship trophy.
“It was exciting to see the turnout we had for our event,” said Ansonia’ Ericka Kramer. “Seeing the sport of cheerleading and dance grow is why we continue to put on our competition.”
The Troy Lady Trojan earned a first place finish in the High School Cheer Division followed by Greenville with a second place finish, Arcanum third and Ansonia placing fourth.
The Game Day High School Division went to Tri-Village with a first place finish followed by Triad (2nd), Arcanum (3rd), Paulding 4th), Ansonia (5th) and Dixie (6th).
Mississinawa Valley took first place in the High School Hip Hop Division followed by Ansonia second a Dixie with a third place finish.
The High School Pom Division had Tri-Village earning first place and Ansonia second.
Isabella Gulley was first in the High School Individual, Keely Labig second and Haley Finlay third.
The Junior High Cheer Division had Greenville taking first place, Troy second and Arcanum finishing third. Junior High Game Day was won by the Arcanum Lady Trojans.
Arcanum placed first in the Junior High School Dance Division with Ansonia finishing second.
Darke County Elite won the Youth Cheer Division, Ansonia place second and Arcanum was third.
The UC (Union City) Stateliners place first in the Youth Dance Division followed by UC Minis, Arcanum, Ansonia Tiger Cubs Hip Hop, Darke County Elite and Ansonia Tiger Cubs Pom. The Youth Individual went to Ansonia’s Josi Weiss.
“We would like to thank Ansonia Schools, the Ansonia football players who contributed their time, along with the parents of our athletes that helped make this event a success,” Kramer stated.
