WEST MILTON – The incident on Saturday morning, October 25, occurring at 5:08 AM at the West Milton Municipal Building parking lot located at 701 S. Miami Street was the ending to a tragic evening/morning.
An adult male, identified as 34-year-old Jacob E. Prichard of Huber Heights, earlier in the evening/morning, took the life of his wife, identified as 33-year-old Jaymee M. Prichard of Huber Heights, placed her in the trunk of their car and drove with her in the car to the West Milton Municipal parking lot, where he took his own life.
The couple resided in Huber Heights. The exact whereabouts Jaymee Prichard’s murder took place is currently unknown. We know that Jacob Prichard drove into the parking lot of the West Milton Municipal Building at 4:22 am, exited the car and took his own life at 4:23 am.
Prior to taking his own life, he opened the trunk of the car so officers who found him would also find Jaymee Prichard in the trunk. Jacob Prichard died near the trunk of the car. This was captured on our exterior security cameras of the Municipal Building.
Preliminary investigation has determined that Jacob Prichard, earlier in the morning hours traveled to 1641 Honey Tree Place in Sugarcreek Township in Greene County, where he broke into an apartment of an acquaintance. He killed the adult female, identified as 25-year-old Jaime S. Gustitus of Sugarcreek Township, who lived there alone. Jacob Prichard then fled the scene in Sugarcreek Township and his next known whereabouts were at the West Milton Municipal parking lot. It is believed the murder in Sugarcreek Township happened about 2:00 am.
The relationship between the Prichards and Ms. Gustitus is believed to be through their work at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The investigation is ongoing, and all four agencies are working together along with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Wright-Patterson Office of Special Investigations.
It is believed there are three crime scenes (West Milton Municipal Building, Huber Heights, and Sugarcreek Township), all related to the continuing events of this evening.
The Miami County Sheriff’s Office is assisting West Milton Police with this investigation. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is assisting the Sugarcreek Township Police Department. The law enforcement agencies extend our condolences to the families of these horrific incidents.
