MIAMI COUNTY – On Saturday, at approximately 2:42 p.m., deputies from the Miami County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of OH 49 and OH 721 in Union Township on a report of a serious injury crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle.
Upon arrival, deputies and emergency medical personnel located the operator of the motorcycle with critical injuries. The rider was transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The motorcyclist has been identified as Aaron Barke (50) of Dayton, Ohio.
The driver of the vehicle, a 76-year-old female from Crossville, Tennessee, sustained minor injuries and remained at the scene.
The preliminary investigation indicates the crash occurred within the intersection of OH 49 and OH 721. The Miami County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team responded to assist with the investigation.
The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is being released at this time.
