DARKE COUNTY – On May 22, at approximately 9:30 pm, Finn K. Sallmen (18) was reported missing by a Greenville citizen.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Stallen was staying in a wooded area near Shawnee Prairie Preserve on SR 502. Investigators and officers from the Greenville Police Department and Darke County Sherrif’s Office conducted searches of the area on May 23-24, but could not locate Sallmen.
On the morning of May 25, officers and investigators, along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol Aviation Unit, conducted a comprehensive search at the Shawnee Prairie Preserve area. During the search, Sallmen was found deceased.
The case remains under investigation by the Greenville Police Department, Darke County Sherrif’s Office and the Darke County Coroner’s Office.
