MIAMI COUNTY – The Miami County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting our annual registered sex offender verification on Tuesday, October 29th at the Sheriff’s Office training center, 2050 N. County Road 25A, Troy. The briefing will begin at 0600 and will include all local Miami County L.E. agencies, OSP, US Marshal’s Service, probation, and parole.
The media is invited to attend the briefing and also accompany the teams of officers as they verify addresses throughout the county. We would request that no photos/videos be taken of those who are in compliance.
The purpose of the verification is to ensure that offenders are residing where they have registered.
For officer safety, I would request that this information be kept confidential until the conclusion of the detail which will likely be in the early afternoon of the 29th. Later in the afternoon, a news release will be emailed with the details and results of the verification.
