MIAMI COUNTY – On Thursday, at approximately 2:00 PM, a Miami County Sheriff’s Deputy, Ryan Thobe, and his K9 partner, Officer Vello, were involved in a crash while stationary in a sheriff’s cruiser off the roadway on County Road 25A near the Farrington interchange. A northbound vehicle, traveling at a high rate of speed, veered off the right side of the roadway and struck the sheriff’s vehicle.
The Miami County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to report that Deputy Ryan Thobe has been released from the hospital following treatment for his injuries. K9 Officer Vello was examined by a veterinarian and sustained only minor injuries.
The Ohio State Patrol is conducting the investigation into the crash. The Sheriff’s Office extends its gratitude to the Ohio State Patrol for their thorough investigation.
