DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ September 25, 2025, regular meeting started at 1:30 p.m. with Commissioners Aultman, Flatter, and Combs present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from Sept.23rd. The examination and allowance of bills for September 25th totaled $42,123.81 for the General Fund, $420,080.81 for outside funds, and a total of $462,204.62, which was approved.
An amendment to the resolution for the Deposit of Public funds was passed unanimously. The Darke County Checking account. will be with Park National, but the banks for depository funds will be Farmers State Bank, Fifth Third Bank, Greenville Federal Bank, Greenville National Bank, and Osgood State Bank.
The Auditor had numerous transfers of funds to cover shortages for different departments totaling $142,692.00. The Animal Shelter transferred $5,300.00 to cover shortages, and Ditch maintenance did the same, transferring $20,135.00.
The Auditor also had a revenue/appropriation increase of $75.80.
An amended agreement between the Commissioners and App Architecture was approved for $60,676.00 for the Wagner Avenue Board of Elections renovation.
An agreement between the Darke County LEPC and Darke County Homeland Security (DCHS) and Emergency Management (EM) was approved for LEPC to pay $8,000.00 to DCHS and EM for services provided.
Two expense requests by the Sheriff’s office were next. Seth Jesse, Elizabeth Kirkpatrick, and Alexander Hoffman will attend intoxilizer training in Dayton on Oct. 7th. Meals totaling $180.00 for all three was approved, and Jacob Pepple and David Driver will attend the same training at Vandalia on Oct. 14th with meals only totaling $120.00 for both.
Funds were transferred by the Commissioners to cover a land survey for airport farm ground as required by the FAA. The total was $500.00.
The Mohler Ditch Project between Darke, Montgomery, and Miami County was approved by conference call on Sept. 5th, with all three commissioners approving.
