May events at the Arcanum Public Library

ARCANUM – The Arcanum Public Library is looking forward to some of our upcoming May events available for the community.

May is one of the seasons of change in the regular schedule of programs at the library as we transition from some of our school-year activities to our Summer Reading Program, which begins in June. Therefore, May 1st will be our only Storytime and After School Program of the month. We hope you will join us on May 1st at 10 am for Storytime as we prepare to celebrate Mother’s Day coming up. Storytime will resume on June 12th and continue on Thursdays during the Summer Reading Program. Our last After School Program of the 2024-25 school year on May 1st will be from 3:45-4:30 PM with smoothies and games. After School Program will resume in the Fall of the 2025-26 school year. We hope to still see our many School-aged family patrons in our summer months, stopping in as a part of the Summer Reading Program.

May 1st from 5:30-7:30 PM, the Arcanum Public Library will be hosting Celebrating Creativity, an Evening of Artistic Expression. During the event, we will be displaying the talented artwork from the Arcanum High School Art Club. The matting was generously provided by Granny’s Corner Frame Shop. We are planning to have music and Hor’ D’oeuvres. Please join us in celebrating our talented local area youth in the Arts!

May 7th through the 23rd will be our Annual Book Sale during regular business hours. The book sale is a wonderful way for the community to take advantage of our large selection of resources available to acquire for their own. Suggested donations will be listed. There will be a large variety of books, both fiction and nonfiction, for all ages, as well as our other resources, such as movies and much more. Don’t miss this opportunity in the month of May!

We will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on May 26th.

We’re excited for this season of change during the month of May at the Arcanum Public Library and hope to see you stop in!
