ANSONIA – The husband-and-wife team of Darke County Commissioner Matt Aultman and Morgan Aultman can be seen at all Ansonia home football games and boys and girls home basketball games, working the concession stands and raising funds for Ansonia Tigers’ programs.
Homemade chicken noodle soup is a Morgan Aultman specialty at the Tigers’ home sporting events and is made fresh every Tuesday and Friday. Another fan favorite is Ketring smoked burgers.
“I spend about an hour to an hour and a half preparing the chicken and noodles before the game starts,” Morgan noted. “I’ll serve a roaster full – that’s around 35 bowls. We have many other things; we have a big menu.”
The Aultman couple relies on volunteer help, mainly from music parents and athletes’ parents, to serve fans at the games.
“Volunteers are an issue,” Morgan said. “We assign parents, but sometimes they are unable to make it. Matt helps – he has to. We’re here every home game.”
“We make food and cheer for the kids from afar,” Morgan said of being confined to the concession stand. “As long as our volunteers show up, we don’t have a hard time at all.”
The concession stand proceeds from the boys’ basketball games go to the Ansonia Music Boosters, and the proceeds from the Lady Tigers’ basketball games go to the Ansonia Athletic Boosters.
