DARKE COUNTY – On January 29, 2026, at approximately 11:33 p.m., Darke County Deputies, along with Ansonia Rescue, Versailles Fire Department, and CareFlight, were dispatched to Brown Road and Shaffer Road in reference to a snowmobile accident with injury.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 2003 Ski-Doo MXZ snowmobile was traveling south through a field. The snowmobile struck an embankment before going airborne and striking a guardrail on Brown Road. The snowmobile rider, Xavier Miller (20) of Versailles, was ejected and landed in the roadway.
First responders provided medical aid to Mr. Miller before he was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight. Mr. Miller succumbed to his injuries at the Hospital.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Department.
