GREENVILLE – The Greenville Business & Professional Women’s (BPW) Club Young Careerist Committee is making preparations for the Thursday, February 13th meeting. The committee consists of: chair Julie Hart and members Kathy O’Dell, Stacy Sykes, Linda Kendig and Pegi Deeter. The meeting will be held at the Shawnee Prairie Nature Center, 4267 St. Rt. 502, Greenville, OH. The dinner meeting will begin at 6:30 PM at a cost of $15.00.
Macy Koon of “The Koon Homestead and Koon Homestead Kennels” is the invited speaker. In October 2020 she attended Dog Trainer College in Spencer IN and is a certified dog trainer. She launched Four Paws and Me Co – a mommy and me dog boutique. In 2023 Macy and her husband Taylor made their homesteading efforts more intentional and began selling products, CSA memberships, herd shares and opened a farm store. Every morning she hand-milks their family milk cow, tends to the chickens and in warmer months cares for a garden. In addition to managing their full-time kennel, Macy is a stay-at-home mama to two littles!
The Virginia Allen Young Careerist program is a specialty program designed to empower young professional women, helping them to hone their leadership and presentation skills. The program aims to recognize the achievements of young working women between the ages of 21 and 35 and introduce them to the many diverse opportunities available with a membership in Business and Professional Women. Participation in this program will enhance written and oral communication skills, which are critical to any profession. In addition, it is an opportunity to meet and network with other young women in the same stage of their careers. Express yourself and become a powerful woman in the workplace.
