GREENVILLE—Bretheren Retirement Home’s Chestnut Village Center was packed on Monday afternoon, as over 50 residents from the Brethren Retirement Community stopped by to celebrate Pi Day and listen to local Katie Gilpin sing.

Monday was the third time Gilpin, 25, performed in the area. She first performed last year at Tri-Village Schools with Darke County Board of Developmental Disabilities (DD), and prior to Chestnut Village, she performed at the A Night in Hollywood Talent Show a couple of weeks ago.

A 2016 graduate of Tri-Village, Gilpin started singing at the age of five, and hasn’t stopped since.

She performed songs on such as JoleneYou’ve Got a Friend in MeSomewhere Over the Rainbow, and many more.

“Katie came to me looking for avenues to pursue her her talents,” Sue Huston, Darke DD Community Connections Coordinator said. “My job is to connect clients to resources in which they can showcase their talents, and Katie’s talent is obviously singing.”

During the performance, residents enjoyed beverages and slices of pie.
