GREENVILLE, Ohio — Residents looking for extra storage space can find a new option at Load and Lock Climate Controlled Storage, where indoor units protect belongings from the weather and provide convenient year-round access.
Owned by Bill Coomer and John Baumgardner, the business at 395 Martin St. offers brand-new rental units in what the owners describe as Greenville’s only indoor, climate-controlled storage facility equipped with a fire sprinkler system.
The facility is filling up, but several sizes remain available. At the time of the interview, Baumgardner said openings included one 10-by-17-foot unit, several 10-by-10-foot units and several 10-by-5-foot units.
Baumgardner said a major advantage is being able to load, unload, and organize belongings indoors, especially during winter weather.
“You don’t have to worry about those snowy days,” he said. “Tracking through snow, sorting through your unit at 30 degrees — everything’s heated.”
Customers can use carts to transport belongings from the loading area to their units, making it easier to move boxes, furniture, and other items. Two truck docks provide another option for larger loads.
“You can just roll right to your unit,” Baumgardner said. “We even have two truck docks. If you have something big to move into them, you can actually use a truck dock.”
The business also uses a monthly pest control service as part of its upkeep. Baumgardner said the facility has experienced no pest problems.
Renters receive a four-digit code to enter through the rear door, and padlocks secure individual units. Customers can access their belongings daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
“Once you’re in the back door, you can go to your unit, which is padlocked too, and get into your unit, and all that is heated and climate controlled,” Baumgardner said.
Coomer and Baumgardner are excited to bring the new storage option to Greenville, offering residents a place to keep belongings with the convenience of indoor access.
