Life’s Reflections: Gender reveal shows this purchase is male

291

I kept my promise from last Monday, when the deal went through on my new automobile, that I would introduce it to readers.

Yes, I purchased a 2010 Chevy Malibu. I know it’s not new but it’s new to me and that’s all that counts.

The new vehicle is navy blue, my favorite color, and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. I prayed for a car, but not the color, but it just surprisingly happened. I don’t think I have ever owned a car with such a beautiful color.

So far, I am loving it as do my passengers.

Now, this one is going to be my retirement auto. I said that about two of the other vehicles I owned, but golly, I haven’t retired yet. I lasted longer than they did if you want to look at it that way.

However, I am hoping it’s still in good shape when I decide to stop writing completely.

I know the blue usually refers to a male in a gender reveal, so I won’t hold that against anybody. I’m used to being told how to drive by some of my passengers but I won’t mention any names. So, I will just live day by day doing what I’ve always done.

Due to my past history, it seems I have most generally driven my vehicles until they’re worn out due to all of the miles I put on them, but I am going to try and organize my travel plans now so that I can preserve this new car’s well-being.

Of course, wouldn’t you know, there are some features on the car that I’ve never had before on my other ones but so far, I am learning. If I can’t, you know the old saying, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks” and I want to prove that statement wrong. I’m working hard on it.

Anyway, I am a happy camper and am enjoying life once again, not that I didn’t before. And, I thank all of those who helped me find this car and made this purchase possible.
I feel I’ve been blessed and that’s a good feeling. Safe travels!

I promise not to write about my travels in next week’s column since I’ve probably bored my readers with the last two I’ve done. But it’s big news for me.
