PITSBURG – The Franklin Monroe Lady Jets fell to the undefeated 12-0 Dayton Christian Lady Warriors 3-0 in a non-conference home volleyball match.

“They’re a solid team,” said Franklin Monroe coach Angie Filbrun. “We played a great game. Even when we were down and played from behind most of the night, we were still aggressive, and we were still doing good things.”

The Lady Jets started slow, losing to the visitors 12-25 in the opening set before finding their stride in sets two and three.

“That first set was a rough start, but they decided we can do this, and when we believe in ourselves, we do good things,” Filbrun stated. “Even though we didn’t win, I still feel like we did well.”

Set No. 2 saw Franklin Monroe take an early 9-8 lead over the Lady Warriors before falling three points short and losing the set 22-25.

“Alivia (Addis) played very well tonight,” Coach Filbrun noted. “When she is confident, she does good things. That third set, we took her out of the back row to give her a little break, and that helped, too. She came in and was confident, played well, and was very aggressive up there.”
