Munciana 16U Nationals coach, John Dicken led the Lady Hawks camp volleyball camp. MV Coach Whitted coached several years for the Muncie, Indiana elite volleyball program.

“They are one of the best clubs in the nation,” said Coach Whitted. “I coached there for a few years so I know how good they are. I know what they do to make the teams better so it is only natural I wanted them to come here and help my girls too.”

Coach Whitted took advantage of the camp to bring new ideas and drills to the Lady Hawks program.

“We’re teaching a lot about defense, always going after the ball, just having gumption and grit and have the no ball hits the floor mentality,” Whitted noted. “We have our libero out for the season so defense is going to be really important for us to get better at since she is going to be gone.”

The Munciana routine kept the team hustling from start to finish with a few breaks in between.

They really gel well together and like to work,” said Coach Whitted. “They like to be put through the ringer. At each practice they like to sweat by the time they’re done so I’m really happy about that.”
