Eaton senior guard Lily Shepherd followed up her 26-point performance in the Eagles’ opening game with 24 points in game two. Eaton opened the season 2-0. 
Eaton now 2-0 to start season 
Eaton’s girls’ varsity basketball team is now 2-0 on the season after a win at Franklin on Tuesday, Nov. 22. The Eagles were again led by senior guard Lily Shepherd.
Shepherd followed up her 26-point effort in the team’s win over Greenville, with 24 points in this one. Shepherd connected on 6-of-7 from the free throw line against Franklin, after hitting 12-of-15 against Greenville.
Kendall Miller also reached double-figures with 11 points. Olivia Baumann pulled down 10 rebounds.
Eaton opened the game with a 20-5 first quarter advantage, but Franklin came back in the second quarter. The Wildcats outscored Eaton 18-9 in the second to pull within six, 29-23 at the half.
Eaton built on the six point lead in the second half and came away with a 62-48 win.
Eaton travels to Bellbrook on Monday, Nov. 28, for a key matchup. Bellbrook is also 2-0 to open the season, with wins over Beavercreek and Miamisburg.
Preble Shawnee opens with impressive wins 
Preble Shawnee’s girls’ basketball team opened the 2022-23 season with two convincing wins, both on the road. The Arrows defeated Brookville, 56-33, and Dixie, 62-35.
PS had three players reach double-figures scoring in their win over Brookville. The Arrows opened the season on the road on Saturday, Nov. 19.
Liv Thompson led the Arrows’ offense with 16 points followed by Kahlen Kulms, 14, and Harlee Howard, 13. Kulms also pulled down 10 rebounds.
Preble Shawnee led by seven at the end of the first quarter, 16-9, and extended that lead to 31-15 by halftime. The Arrows continued to pull away in the second half, outscoring Brookville 25-18.
On the following Tuesday, PS traveled to Dixie to open Western Ohio Athletic Conference action. A 21-point first quarter set the tone for the game as Shawnee led by 10 at halftime. After an even third quarter, the Arrows capped off the win outscoring Dixie 21-3 in the fourth.
Preble Shawnee will host Valley View in a non-conference game on Monday, Nov. 28. They will get back into WOAC action on Thursday hosting Arcanum.
T-C North hosts NT in WOAC action 
Tri-County North’s girls’ basketball team held its home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 22, with a Western Ohio Athletic Conference matchup against National Trail. The Panthers opened the season splitting two games on the road.
The Blazers came in 2-0 after winning a pair of games on opening weekend.
North jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as NT struggled offensively. The Panthers ended the first quarter with a 14-4 lead and went on to win, 38-18.
TCN had three players score in double-figures with Rilee Terry (13), Bella Cherry (12) and Hannah Webster (11). Terry also dominated the boards with 21 rebounds.
NT was led by Ashlynne Osbourne and Natalie Osswald each with six points.
TCN will be back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 29, hosting a non-conference game against Stivers. They will travel to Tri-Village on the following Thursday.
The Blazers play at Dayton Christian on Monday, Nov. 28, and at Bradford on Thursday.
