UNION CITY – The Mississinawa Valley Lady Blackhawks basketball team under the direction of head coach, Michael Paige completed its two day high school basketball camp.
“We go over a lot of fundamentals and things they can work on in the summer, some of the plays the newer girls haven’t learned yet,” said Paige. “We’re about to put some of that things in so for the next couple of months they have some things to work on.”
The Lady Hawks coaching staff assisted Coach Paige along with former University of Findlay football player.
“We had Terrance Sledge who I coached with at Beavercreek and a couple other places we coached together for a while,” Paige stated. “He has a lot of experience working with post players so bringing in and giving some better looks, new voices and new ideas.”
The Lady Blackhawks are coming off a successful 20-4 season and look to challenge for the WOAC title. The team understands the “target on their backs) returning all starters from the 2022 season.
“We talk about that,” said Coach Paige. “We like having a target on our back. We like the expectations and the pressure. I think it will actually push us to be better.”
“We’re getting ready for the season,” he concluded.
