Kimberly Suzanne Bridges, beloved daughter and a bright light in the lives of all who knew her, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 12, 2025. She was 53 years old.
Kim was born on June 23, 1971, and from the very beginning, her life was filled with love, joy, and perseverance. Diagnosed as mentally challenged, Kim faced life with a pure heart, a gentle spirit, and an ever-present smile. She was a graduate of the Multi-Handicap Program in 1992, earning a special diploma that reflected her dedication and accomplishments.
Kim worked in several community settings, including a special workshop, the Option Four program, and local businesses such as Taco Bell and Burger King. She was a proud participant in Special Olympics, winning numerous ribbons and medals at both local and state levels. She also loved attending the Darke County Fair, Kings Island, and various local zoos.
Kim’s faith was central to her life. She enjoyed attending worship services and was especially touched by the beauty of the Catholic Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Greenville, Ohio. She loved singing children’s Sunday School songs and being in church with her mother.
Kim will be remembered for her love of life, her sweet nature, and her deep affection for those around her. She was the apple of her mother’s eye and brought immeasurable joy to her family.
She is survived by her loving mother, Judy Bridges, and her devoted brother, Robert Bridges, as well as many friends and extended family members.
A memorial service for Kimberly will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 129 West Third Street, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Doug Klinsing officiating, with arrangements being handled by Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville, Ohio. Kimberly will be cremated according to her family’s wishes.
