Jo Ann (Taylor) Ashman, 91, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 3:38 PM at the Brethren Retirement Community. Jo Ann was born October 9, 1932, in Darke County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Lloyd William and Anna Mary (Turner) Taylor.
Jo Ann worked for 20 years at Whirlpool; she was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was very active; she was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, and a former member of the Eastern Star. She also served as a Cub Scout Den Leader.
Jo Ann is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert L. Ashman, on August 5, 2008, whom she married September 28, 1951; her son-in-law, Duane Miller; her brothers-in-law, William “Elmer” Clark and James Bunch.
Jo Ann is survived by her children and spouses, Becky Miller of Greenville, Jim and Vickie Ashman of New Bremen, Mark and Kim Ashman of Mason, Jeff and Jennifer Ashman of Union City, Ohio; her grandchildren, Jennifer (J.B.) Ashman-Wibbler, Rob (Hilary) Ashman, Ben Jones, and Brittany (Doug) Ashman-Dremluk; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; her sisters, Kay Bunch of Arcanum, Ronda Clark of Greenville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Gary Blacklidge officiating. Burial will be held privately at Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice.
