GREENVILLE – On Tuesday, right before the Commissioner Regular Agenda Session, Micheal Bocanegra from Walls Brothers Asphalt Co. presented Darke County Engineer Jim Surber received the Quality Award for Asphalt Paving 2023 from Flexible Pavements of Ohio.

The award reads, “For achieving the highest quality in asphalt paving as exhibited by superior workmanship and riding quality. Resurfacing of Greenville Nashville Rd. from  State Route 502 to Palestine Union City Road. Paving Contractor Walls Brothers Asphalt Co. and John R Jurgensen Co.”

“That Greenville Nashville Road was the first road we did out of the gate,” Bocanegra said. “We had that pavement set up perfectly, and when we got done, we just knew we had to put it up for awards.”

When Walls Bros. Asphalt Co. finished Greenville Nashville Rd, they sent it to Flexible Pavements to be entered for awards. It was awarded for local streets.

“That was an excellent job we did on Greenville Nashville Road this year,” Surber said. “We remarked on that as soon as it was paved.”

Congratulations, Jim Surber, Walls Brothers Asphalt Co., and John R. Jurgensen on this award!
