The board approved Resolution (R-86-2024). This is a two-step Fund Transfer and Transfer of Appropriations to cover equipment for the Sheriff’s cruisers. The first step was a fund transfer of $42,015 to the General Fund. The second step was a transfer of appropriations of $42,015 to the Darke County Clerk of Courts. This was a requirement for the Justice Assistance Grant.
The board then approved Resolution (R-87-2024). This is a Fund advance of $9,653 to cover the Hopkins home improvement bill for the Spicer home repair. This will advance back to the general fund when the revenue is received from the 2021 CHIP CDBG Grant.
At the end of the meeting, Commissioner Larry Holmes shared that EMA is hosting another eclipse planning meeting.
“It’s on my calendar that the EMA is hosting their last planning meeting for the eclipse a week from today at 2 pm at Birchwood,” Commissioner Holmes said. “I believe that’s the last one prior to the April 8th event. We’ll see how that will come about. It’s probably a little early to figure out what the weather forecast is, but that group has been working hard in preparation for the event.”
Commissioner Holmes also shared the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commissioner will hold public participation meetings for Darke, Preble, and Shelby counties for the Regional Transportation Plan. This meeting will be on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 5 pm – 6 pm at the Darke Rural Electric Facility.
