GREENVILLE — Christy Hole was sworn in by Greenville Mayor Jeff Whitaker to fill the At-Large Greenville City Council seat vacated September 30, 2025, by Councilman Brian Brown following his relocation from the city.
“My grandfather, Richard Hole Sr., and my father, Richard Hole Jr., both served the city, and I thought it was a great opportunity—now that I’ve come back and have more free time, to serve the city of Greenville that has been so good to me,” Hole said. “I am excited to listen to the people, serve the people of Greenville, make an impact in the city, and get more grounded and connected.”
Under the Ohio Revised Code, the Darke County Republican Party was responsible for filling the vacancy for the remainder of the unexpired term. Because the seat is At-Large, any registered Republican voter residing within the city limits was eligible to apply and be considered for the appointment.
Hole, who previously lived in Wisconsin and Mississippi, returned to Greenville about five years ago.
“I came back about five years ago to help with my aging parents,” Hole said. “Now I’ve got time to help the community and make Greenville great.”
Mayor Whitaker expressed his enthusiasm for the new council member.
“We are getting a very committed member of the community to serve on city council,” Whitaker said. “Christy has been very active with girls’ sports, the Girls Softball Association, and with the Elks Club. She heads up several of their efforts and events.”
“Christy is willing to serve and is very familiar with what is going on in our city government and with many of the people who work there,” the mayor added. “We’re going to have a very good working relationship with her, and I’m more than pleased.”
