He has risen: The true meaning of Easter

A long time ago, in a quiet town called Jerusalem, something amazing happened—something that would change the world forever. This story is at the heart of what Easter is all about.

There was a man named Jesus. He was kind, loving, and full of wisdom. People followed him everywhere because he taught them about God’s love and how to live with kindness, peace, and forgiveness. He healed the sick, fed the hungry, and welcomed everyone, especially those who felt forgotten or left out.

But not everyone liked what Jesus was doing. Some powerful leaders were afraid of the way people listened to him, and they didn’t believe he was the Son of God, like he said. So they made a plan to arrest him.

One Friday, which we now call Good Friday, Jesus was put to death on a cross. His friends were heartbroken. They didn’t understand why this had to happen. They buried Jesus in a tomb, and a big stone was rolled in front of it.

Three days later, on Sunday morning, some women went to the tomb. But when they got there, something surprising happened—the stone was rolled away, and Jesus was gone! An angel told them, “He is not here. He has risen!”

Jesus had come back to life! He visited his friends and followers, showing them that love and life are stronger than death. His resurrection was a promise—that God’s love never ends, and that there is always hope, even after the darkest days.

And that’s what Easter is all about: hope, love, new life and the joy of knowing that we are never alone.

Today, people celebrate Easter in many ways—going to church, singing songs, sharing meals, and even enjoying Easter eggs and bunnies, which remind us of new life and springtime.

But at the heart of it all is a message that still shines bright: love wins, and life is full of new beginnings.
