PIQUA – Piqua City Commission and City staff, along with the BASIS Companies team and the Piqua Improvement Corporation, celebrated the groundbreaking of the 902 Scott Drive redevelopment project on Tuesday.
BASIS will develop the land for Olive Garden, Chipotle and Hampton Inn & Suites at the I-75/U.S. 36 interchange. Contractors completed the site improvement work earlier this year to ready the site for the construction of the new buildings.
“Kicking off the construction process is a huge step toward further developing the highway interchange and bringing in additional tax revenue for our community,” Piqua City Manager Paul Oberdorfer said. “This project continues to move forward efficiently so we can offer these new amenities in the near future.”
The deed has been transferred to the developer, and construction begins this week. The anticipated timelines include Chipotle open by late 2025, Olive Garden open in the first quarter of 2026, and Hampton Inn open by fall of 2026.
