CELINA—The Greenville varsity boys’ tennis team dominated the Celina Bulldogs 5-0 in winning the season opener on the Bulldogs’ home courts.
“Strong start to the year and great one to knock off some rust,” said Greenville coach Sam Bowers. “It was nice to see us come out to compete as we gear up for a big week of match play.”
Winning in singles included Mason Pierri (6-3, 6-1) ,Eli Willis (6-2, 6-3), Hudson Pierri (6-0, 6-0)
Winning in doubles included Drew Beisner / Avery Yount (6-1, 6-0), and Kaitlin Combs / Silas Lacey (6-0, 6-0).
“Happy to see a kid like freshman Hudson Pierri get his first varsity win in his first varsity start, a kid who has a bright future,” Coach Bowers stated. “Great to see our doubles teams get experience playing together.”
