THEFT NOT IN PROG
April 30, 2023 around 1:10 p.m., police were dispatched to Smart Stop Self Storage, 1325 Benden Way, in reference to a theft of a catalytic converter. Upon arrival, police spoke with the victim, Mary Pool. Mary advised she parked her listed RV, a white 1996 Fleetwood, in the Smart Stop Self Storage lot. The RV was parked there from early October until today’s date. Sometime during that period, an unknown suspect got into the storage facility and was able to cut off the catalytic converter from the RV. Officers spoke to the employee at Smart Stop Self Storage and she advised she would have someone look at the surveillance footage. There were no tools or evidence left at the scene. A victim’s rights form was given to the victim and it was completed. On May 3, 2023, police contacted Smart Stop Self Storage and asked about the video footage. Police were told by an employee that the video surveillance only goes back 32 days and they were unable to see anything suspicious in that time frame. They have no suspects at this time.
PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT
May 5, 4:21 p.m.: Police responded to 1501 Wagner Avenue reference a private property accident. Upon arrival, police made contact with Chelsea Wagner and Connie Thobe. Both parties stated that Chelsea was driving a sliver ford through row three of the parking lot. Chelsea stopped behind another vehicle in traffic. Connie was driving a beige Buick, and attempted to back out of the parking spot that she was in, striking Chelsea’s vehicle causing minor damage to the passenger side front bumper. Both parties exchanged insurance information and were given this report number.
DRUGS
May 6, 1:05 a.m.: Police were dispatched the 600 block of Walnut in reference an overdose complaint. Upon arrival police and Sgt. Prickett located the complainant John Harvey inside of the apartment performing CPR on a male subject who was laying on the floor just in front of the front door to the apartment. Police then recognized the unresponsive male subject to Bradley Crum. Bradley was not breathing and his body was turning blue. Police administered one dose of Narcan (4mg) to Bradley through his nose. Officers then began to perform CPR on Bradley. Bradley then took a gasp of air and began to have shallowed breathing. They noticed a syringe that was in Bradley’s right pants pocket. Officers grabbed the syringe which was capped and noticed that there was blood on the inside of it. Greenville Township Rescue then arrived on scene and administered one dose of Narcan (2mg) by IV to Bradley. Soon after this Narcan was administered Bradly became responsive. The color to Bradley’s body then started to return and he was profusely perspiring with sweat which caused his entire t-shit to become soaked in sweet. Greenville Township Rescue then asked Bradley a series of questions which he was able to answer correctly. Bradly denied using any illegal narcotics such as an opioid. Police then asked Bradly why they found a hypodermic syringe in his pants pocket and he stated that he did not know. Bradly then admitted that the last time he used drugs was about a month ago. Poli8ce searched the rest of Bradly’s person and no other contraband was located. They also searched Bradly’s black bookbag which was laying next to him while he was unresponsive on the floor. Police located a small white scale and a small teal colored container that had a white residue inside of it. No other contraband was located inside of the bookbag. In total Bradly was administered three doses of Narcan (6mg). Bradly signed a refusal for treatment. Police then had dispatch run a CCH on Bradley and the results of the CCH showed that Bradley was convicted of possession of a controlled substance on April 20, 2022 through the Darke County Common Pleas Court. Polic4e then issued a misdemeanor citation to Bradley for Drug Abuse Instrument which due to the pervious 2925.11 conviction enhances the degree to a misdemeanor of the first degree. Bradley was issued his copy of the citation and he was advised of his mandatory court date. They then transported the hypodermic syringe to the Greenville Police Department where police packaged it and placed it into property as evidence.
SEX OFFENSE
May 7, 8:25 p.m.: Police were dispatched to the South Park, at 871 Gray Ave, in reference of a sex offense that had just occurred behind 335 Martin St. Upon arrival, they spoke to the CV who stated an unknown male had just exposed himself to her. The CV explained she had been walking behind Subway 335 Martin St. near the alley when a white 250 Ford pick-up truck pulled up to her with his window down. The CV said the driver was a male and was stroking his penis with his pants down for her to see. The suspect male asked her derogatory questions then asked her to get in his truck. The CV said she called a friend who responded to walk her home to her aunts home in the 300 block of Bucoba. The CV said the suspect continued to drive around them as they walked until they approached South Park where the truck left the area. The male appeared to be in his 20’s, short beard, white tee-shirt and ball cap. The CV did not get trucks license plate. Police spoke to the CV’s adult cousin, Ciara Byrd about the incident. The CV said she did not want to have to relate the incident to her parents. Ciara said she would make sure her parents were informed when her aunt dropped the CV off at home in Bradford later in the evening. No other information known on suspect or his vehicle. There are no cameras facing where the incident occurred.
