GREENVILLE – The Greenville Masonic Lodge #143 held its annual Masonic Service Award Ceremony on Saturday, November 1, celebrating decades of dedication and Fraternal service.
The highlight of the afternoon was the presentation of an 80-Year Service Award to Brother Robert Carol Bussard, a moment that drew heartfelt applause and deep reverence from all in attendance.
The award was formally presented by Shawn Johnson, Grand Master of Masons in Ohio, accompanied by several officers from the Grand Lodge of Ohio. Brother Bussard, who was raised as a Master Mason on September 23, 1946, has lived a life marked by service and integrity. A World War II veteran and lifelong cattle farmer, he exemplifies the values of the Craft both in and beyond the Lodge.
In recognition of his military service, the Grand Lodge also presented Brother Bussard with a Masonic Military Service Pin, honoring his commitment to both country and Brotherhood. He was joined at the ceremony by 19 members of his family, whose presence underscored the generational impact of his life and legacy.
In addition to Brother Bussard’s milestone, Greenville Lodge proudly recognized Brothers receiving 75, 60, 50, 45, 40, 35, 30, and 25-Year Service Awards, celebrating the enduring strength and continuity of Masonic fellowship in the community.
The afternoon served not only as a tribute to individual dedication but as a powerful reminder of the Lodge’s role in shaping character, honoring tradition, and building bonds that span lifetimes.
