MASON – The Lady Wave made the 76-mile drive to Mason to take on the Lady Comets in non-conference action, bringing home a 2-0 win over the perennial DI powerhouse.
“Great atmosphere and Great Day for Lady Wave Softball,” said Greenville coach Jerrod Newland. “Now 23-1 and Mason 24-3. Proud of the kids and the coaches. Big program win.”
Mason brought a 24-2 overall record and a perfect 18-0 Greater Miami Conference mark into the night, matching Greenville’s perfect 18-0 Miami Valley League record and the Lady Wave’s overall record of 22-1. Greenville’s Ella Oswalt slammed the door on Mason, striking out the side in order, the first two looking and the final out coming on a swinging strikeout.
“Awesome defense and day on the mound,” said Coach Newland. “Infield was lights out and Ella was very sharp on the mound.”
