
GREENVILLE – The Green Wave honored six seniors, No. 8, Kamdon Riethman; No. 14, Andrew Gahret; No. 33, Mason Pierri; No. 36, Jackson Eberwein; No. 65, Andrew Winner; and No. 70 Joseph Dixon, Friday night in their final career home game played at Harmon Field.

The Wave fell to the 8-0 Xenia Buccaneers 48-6 in a game in which Greenville showed some impressive first-half play, including a Lucas Thorp touchdown. The junior scored on a 7-yard run, stretching out to get the ball over the goal line for a 14-6 first-quarter score.

The high-powered Buccaneers scoring came by way of a pick-six and six touchdowns through the air, with the first two Xenia scores coming in the opening period on two three-yard touchdown strikes.
Thorp put the Wave on the board at 11:47 to open second-quarter play for a 14-6 game.

Xenia added a 14-yard strike, 30 and 31-yard TD passes, and a four-yarder to close out scoring on the night.

The Buccaneers had 88 rushing yards and 285 yards through the air. Greenville accounted for 73 rushing yards and 59 passing yards.

Greenville drops to 0-9 on the season and will close out 2024 play on the road at 0-9 West Carrollton on Friday, October 25th.
Xenia takes its perfect 9-0 record against 9-0 Tippecanoe on October 25th in a conference matchup to decide the 2024 Miami Valley League champions.
