
GREENVILLE – The Greenville varsity baseball team earned a 15-3 Senior Night non-conference win over the visiting Bradford Railroaders.
Greenville honored eight seniors No. 1 Layne Hocker, No. 2 Owen Mcgreevey, No. 4 Adam Edwards, No. 5 Braeden Wills, No. 8 Carson Good, No. 16 Hunter Henninger, No. 17 Drew Hamilton, and No. 25 Jackson Eberwein.

“This Senior Night recognition was very special to me, not only because I have a senior playing, but because I have coached this group of young men for the past 10 years,” said Greenville coach Adam Eberwein. “This is an exceptional group of young men who have amazing qualities.”
“I am so proud to have had the privilege to help mold these young men into what they are today,” Eberwein added. “These eight seniors also have an incredible group of parents. They are the real reason why this group is so special.”

The Wave jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning with Bradford bouncing back to plate two runs in the top of the second.
Greenville added three runs in the second, two in the third, and one in the fourth to lead 15-2 before the Railroaders plated a run in the top of the fifth, giving the Green Wave a run-rule win.

“It was a special night for this group as all eight seniors played together to get a 15-3 win over Bradford,” Coach Eberwein stated. “They played confidently and were focused on getting a win on senior night. I am very pleased with how we played, and the best part about the night, the boys had fun doing it. We battled through a little rain at the beginning, but the weather cleared up to present a pretty nice evening for the Wave.”
Jackson Eberwein paced the Wave at the plate going 4-4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs. Drew Hamilton went 3-3 including a double, 4 RBI and 2 runs; Owen Mcgreevey 2-3 including a double, 2 RBI, 2 runs; Layne Hocker 1-4, 1 RBI, 1 run; Adam Edwards 1-3, 1 RBI, 2 runs, Hunter Henninger 1-2, a double, 1 RBI, 1 run; Braeden Wills 1-3with a walk, 1 run; Carson Good, 2 walks, 1 RBI, 1 run; Isaac Kerg 1 walk, 1 RBI, 1 run; Charlie Jasenski 1 walk, 1 run.

Edwards started on the mound for the Wave, throwing 1.0 inning of no-hit shutout ball, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. Good tossed 1.1 innings allowing 1 earned run on 2 hits, 1 walk and a strikeout; Mcgreevey went 1.0 of no hit shutout ball, no walks; Hamilton pitched 1.0 inning giving up 2 earned runs, 1 hit, 1 walk, 1 strikeout; Eberwein 0.2 innings, 1 hit, 1 walk and 2 strikeouts.
With the win, Greenville improves to 10-12 on the season while Bradford falls to 1-14 overall.
