GREENVILLE – The Greenville Girls Softball Association (GGSA) will be holding its opening day ceremonies this Saturday, May 2nd, at Stebbins Field.
The 2026 season marks the 54th year GGSA has served the community, providing young lady athletes from the area with a top-notch softball facility. The association is managed by a team of dedicated volunteer officers and trustees – backed by volunteer coaches and supported by donations from numerous individuals and businesses throughout Greenville and Darke County.
Opening day will start at 11:00 a.m., when pre-sale ticket holders may pick up their BBQ chicken or pork chop dinners at the drive-thru in the North parking lot. At 12 noon, the Colors will be presented by American Legion Post 140, and a special guest will perform our National Anthem. The little league teams will be recognized, there will be various drawings for prizes for the fundraising efforts of the players, followed by a ceremonial “first pitch” by an honoree chosen by the association’s officers and trustees.
Following the ceremonies, the afternoon will be filled with exhibition games on all six of the softball complex’s diamonds. All are welcome to come out and enjoy a day at the diamonds, support your favorite team, and partake in a ballpark treat at the concession stand.
GGSA is a 501(3)(c) Non-Profit Organization founded in 1972 dedicated to providing recreational softball activities for over 500 girls each year in Greenville and the surrounding areas.
