Gary W. Henderson, age 72 of Ansonia, Ohio, passed away at 3:19 PM Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at his residence. Gary was born September 23, 1952, in Greenville, the son of the late George and Virginia (Klosterman) Henderson.
He retired from the Union City Body Company. Gary loved spending time with family, particularly his grandchildren and watching them participate in sporting events and helping them pull pranks on other family members. He loved auto racing, particularly at Eldora Speedway, his time up on Lake Erie—fishing, boating and water skiing, many trips to Lake Cumberland and travel in general. He was also an avid golfer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Vicky J. (Riffle) Henderson April 27, 2021, and his brother Rick Henderson.
Gary is survived by his children Tammy (Steve) Hufford of Troy, Ohio and Travis (Heather Dawn) Henderson of Ansonia; grandchildren Alyssa Henderson, Taylor (Jared) Neikamp, Madison (Seth) Griffith and Emma Henderson: great grandchildren Charlotte Neikamp, Murphy Neikamp, Daxtyn Henderson, Brooks Neikamp and Lincoln Griffith; sister Carol (Charlie) Baughman of Florida; in-laws Nancy (Rick) Moody and Dennis (RuthAnn) Riffle all of Ansonia as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, April 27, 2025, in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Burial will follow in the Ansonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service in the funeral home.
