Gail E. Horner, age 74, of Greenville, passed away at 3:08 am Friday, October 6, 2023, at Ayden Healthcare of Greenville.
Gail was born July 27, 1949, in Greenville to the late Leo & Marianna (Caupp) Horner. Gail was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, John Shafer.
Gail is survived by his sisters & brothers-in-law, Shirley & Don Keihl of Arcanum, Darlene & Donald Oelslager of Eaton and Doris Shafer of Bradford; nieces & nephews, David & Sharon Keihl, Amy Keihl, Katrina Keihl, Chad & Lisa Shafer, and Jonathan Shafer; great nieces & great nephews, Max Shafer, Shelby Shafer, David Shafer, Olivia Keihl and Erin Keihl; and aunt & uncle, Carlene & Ova Sheets of Greenville.
Gail retired from Corning Glass in Greenville. Gail’s passion in life was his horses; he loved raising and being around them. He enjoyed bird watching, playing cards, playing lottery tickets, aggravating his neighbors, and collecting model trains.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville, with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
